What Is Masters?
The Masters program promotes fitness and paddling for adults of all ages. Participants spend extensive time in sprint singles and crew boats, as well as surf skis and OC1s, to develop balance, technique, and overall paddling skills under the guidance of our highly experienced coaches.
Masters paddlers also train in rough-water conditions using surf skis and outriggers. When the water is especially challenging, the group takes out the OC6 to surf waves and build teamwork.
Throughout the season, Masters athletes have the option to compete in both sprint and outrigger events at regattas in Ottawa and across the region. The program builds toward the annual Ottawa River Paddle Challenge (ORPC), where participants can put their skills to the test in a fun, challenging environment.
