Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)
Aside from ORCC member access to our Stand Up Paddle boards (SUP) during dock duty hours, the ORCC offers two SUP programs designed for participants to develop their SUP skills! The programs are as follows:
WhatSUP
Participant level: Novice / Beginner
Details: This one-time (as opposed to a multi-night/week program) 1.5 hour course will provide an introduction to SUP equipment, the different types of SUP's, first time boarding skills, basic paddling strokes and pivot turns. All equipment is provided however we recommend participants bring a change of clothes, a full waterbottle, and watershoes as our shoreline is quite rocky.
Time:
- Every other Wednesday night from 18:15 - 19:45
- July 5 - 16
Cost: $75.00 + HST (Non-Members) / $55.00 + HST (Member)
FitSUP
Participant Level: SUP experience required, must be able to handle themselves independently on a SUP.
Details: This multi-week program is designed for SUP athletes looking for a more intense coached workout in a group environment. The program will focus on improving basic skills, build on more efficient SUP paddling strokes. The workouts will include structured long pieces and interval training which will assist in building cardio conditioning. We will also provide a stroke video analysis.
Time:
- Every Tuesday evening from 18:30 - 20:00
- July 4 - August 22
Cost:
- Member: $110 + HST
- Non-Member: $145 + HST
- Non-Member with their own board: $110 + HST
